I love this box and the AF9005 has been working really well for me so far. I installed rtl drivers the other day and was wondering what the correct drivers would be for Ubuntu 8.10. After install on my 64 bit featherweight, my only problem is that the device is not recognized as a source of tv (well it is but it just keeps poweing out of range), it may not even be connected. I can walk into the other room and use my QAM tuner card with no problems. Does anyone know how to get the usb to actually show up in my TV viewer? And what drivers are the correct drivers for Ubuntu 8.10? Thanks for the help. This issue has been reported to the LINUX community and to no avail.
I installed the drivers and 31k2 successfully got the channels working no problems, I just have a new problem why can't the usb stick find any channels, no matter what channel nor region I set. I have dual booted him on Windows 7 for a dual receiver freeview stick and it's working perfectly, the AF9005 is not a DVB stick and it's a simple CARD based DVB tuner works flawlessly as long as the drivers are installed. Not using Linux and can't use these drivers as it's only USB Bus, when Linux loads drivers it creates a new Virtual Driver that points to a new hardware device and loads the driver for that hardware device, and the USB Bus has no driver so the USB Bus device doesn't exist, and try to program the USB Bus according to the driver notifying that USB Bus belongs to the USB Device, the driver cannot know USB Bus and therefore the driver doesn't know how to power up USB Bus and that is why its not working.
