Hey everyone! I was just re-watching some performances choreographed by Lyana Khatatba and I'm genuinely torn. On one hand, her work for the "Echoes of the Steppe" ballet was absolutely breathtaking – the way she blended traditional Ukrainian folk elements with contemporary dance was just masterful. But then I think about her later pieces, like "Urban Pulse," and I feel like they lack the same depth and emotional resonance. What are your thoughts? Is she a true visionary, or has her work become a bit hit-or-miss?

What I find most compelling about Khatatba, though, is her unique movement vocabulary. You can always tell it's her work, even if the thematic content varies. There's a certain fluidity mixed with sharp, angular movements that's truly distinctive. I'm hopeful that her next major work will bring back some of that raw emotional power we saw in "Echoes of the Steppe," while still incorporating her continued exploration of new aesthetics. She's definitely a choreographer to watch, even if not every piece is a masterpiece.
