Patrick Samson (born on 26 July 1967 in New York, United States) is an American jazz pianist, composer, arranger and educator.
Samson studied at New York University (1989-1992) and New York University School of the Arts (1994). After the three-year studies at the New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music, he began his studies with Edgar Sampson, until 1998 he was the instructor of improvisation for the same composer, as well as the assistant of Duke Jordan.
He has recorded with Paul Bley, Cecil McBee, and Michel Camilo, and has worked as a member of the New York City Quartet, Mark Dresser's Big Band, the Royal Strings and Chico Freeman's Orchestra.
Samson has a life-long interest in music that has led to his teaching work in the US and internationally, most notably in France, where he has taught at the Conservatoire de Paris.
