A couple of great ones come with installation instructions, and the others are easy enough to figure out on your own. The best of these include: Supreme Commander 2: (Recommended): Battlefield 2 Source only Grand Theft Auto IV: (Recommended): Battlefield 2 Source only Batman: Arkham Asylum: (Recommended): Battlefield 2 Source only Unreal Tournament 2004: (Though the modding community for UT has moved on, and many older UT mods aren't available anymore, UT 2004: BF2 remains to serve its purpose as a very robust mod for Battlefield 2. UT is a mod that we will keep using with Battlefield 2 until we no longer play it)
First off, though the Battlefield 2 modding scene is fairly new, most of the currently popular mods have been played around by BF2 players for years. That's why there are so many to choose from. But like we said, these mods are typically used on older stock maps, and the file sizes of a lot of them are a bit hefty.
