So… I think my shingle roof is officially giving up. It’s curling, leaking, and one good windstorm away from flying into Lake Simcoe 😂.
Thinking about switching to a metal roof, but I keep hearing mixed things — too pricey, too noisy, etc.
Anyone here actually done it in Barrie? Worth it or not?

Oh man, I was there last year! Same story — shingles falling apart, buckets in the attic during rainstorms. I finally said screw it and went with a full metal roof install.I used MRoof — you can check them out here: mroof.ca/metal-roofing-in-barrie
They were amazing. Super quick, super professional, and the result looks incredible. The black metal roof they did on my bungalow makes it look like a brand-new house. And the noise thing? Totally a myth — you barely hear the rain.
It’s been through one brutal Barrie winter already and still looks perfect. Plus, no more worrying about shingles flying off or leaks popping up. Yeah, it costs a bit more upfront, but it’s definitely one of those “do it once and forget about it” type of upgrades.Highly recommend giving them a call if you’re done patching your old roof every year.
